Lot Description
A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch, the white dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, subsidiary sunken seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, bordered by a minute track, circular shaped case with milled band, engine turned decoration and a vacant cartouche to rear, hallmarked London 1882, fitted with an unsigned full plate fusee and chain movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 50mm.

Unsigned Victorian key wind pocket watch, movement running, some superficial scratching to movement and screws, dust cover seems in good condition and the lock appears to be functional, movement hinge seems good, Dial appears in fair condition with some small hairline cracks visible, traces of grime on subdial - whole dial would benefit from a careful clean, hands are mismatched - possibly due to one or all having been replaced, hands are lightly scratched and distorted, glass shows some light scratches, slight chipping around the circumference of the glass, dints around bezel, front cover hinge seems secure though there is some evidence of previous damage/repair, inside back dust cover has scratches from general use, decoration on back cover heavily worn though general wear, bow seems secure but the screw holding it in place appears loose and may need replacing. bow shows dints and scratches consistent with general wear
