Lot Description
A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch, the cream tone dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track with Arabic divisions, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, round case hallmarked Chester 1840, fitted with a full plate fusee and chain movement with a ratchet tooth lever escapement signed James Wood, Liverpool. Case diameter 51mm.

movement not currently running, balance swings freely, minor damage to screw heads, superficial scratches to movement plates, locking spring on dust cover corroded but functional, hour and minute hand appear in ok condition with some superficial scratches and slight deformation, second hand mismatched - suspected replacement, some debris on dial which may be removed by careful cleaning, slight chipping around circumference, all hinges seem to be secure, glass is very lightly scratched - may polish out, engine turning/decoration to case sides and back worn almost smooth, tarnish marks around bezel and case edges, pendant worn, bow feels secure but is slightly tarnished and showing signs of wear.
