Lot Description
A 1930s platinum rock crystal, diamond and onyx brooch. The rectangular-shape rock crystal panel, reverse carved to depict two putto playing musical instruments, within a calibre-cut onyx and vari-cut diamond surround to the similarly carved rock crystal and vari-cut diamond sides. Estimated total diamond weight 1.60cts. Length 4.9cms. Weight 12.3gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good to fair overall condition with light scratches and very slight dents in keeping with general wear. The pin and bar are 9ct gold, possible replacements and appear detachable. Some smaller diamonds possible replacements. The diamonds appear bright and well matched. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Some of the smaller diamonds have surface cavities/naturals and small nicks. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The onyx are well matched. The rock crystal shows surface scratches and minor abrasion. One of the smaller rock crystal panels (leftmost in the main picture) has a very small chip to its right top corner.
