Lot Description

A fine and rare 19th century Anglo Indian Vizagapatam sandalwood, ivory and staghorn work box or basket, the sloping octagonal cover with ivory flowerhead finial over fan shaped staghorn faces trimmed with fine lac-decorated ivory borders, the conforming body with swing handle, on four reeded bun feet, 10.5" diameter x 7" high, excluding handle, (26.5cm x 18cm).
