A late 19th century Anglo-Indian ebony lap desk or writing box, the hinged reeded rectangular body enclosing a plush lined writing slope beneath secret drawers with dotted inlay behind a conforming front panel, in turn beneath compartments and shaped gallery, 16.5" x 10.25" x 5.75" high, (42cm x 26cm x 14.5cm).
