Lot Description

A rare 18th century Derby figure of Cupid disguised as a Money-Lender
Circa 1775, modelled holding a money bag in his right hand, wearing a loose drape held by a strap, painted with colourful flower sprays and lined in pale green, before flowering bocage, on a mound base, moulded with scrolls picked out in turquoise and gold, three patch marks 9", (23cm) high, together with a smaller figure of a flower seller against bocage backing on pink, blue and gilt scroll base, (restoration)
