A hunting party

Four figures (two on horseback) with foxhounds outside a half timbered tavern, villages and further huntsmen distant

Oil on canvas

Bears signature 'Heywood Hardy' lower left

22" x 34" (56cm x 86.5cm)

In swept gilt frame (requires relining and restoration).

Extensive (16"/40cm) horizontal tear to canvas with smaller tears at right angles. Scuffing/flaking to same area. Secondary tear across both standing figures approx. 6"/15cm. Third of damage to hunting horse's head. Loss to upper right of frame. Futher minor frame losses. Sold as seen.
