Labels verso 'Joseph Payton of Warwick exhibited 1861-1870 at The Royal Academy, at the British Institute and various exhibitions'
Old 'Winsor & Newton' label for prepared mill-board, and label of Blakedown Galleries with inventory number 6321/0 verso (later t/a John Noott)

Was cleaned decades ago. Some fine crazing which when cleaned left an 'eggshell' finish in the light. Cracks most noticable to floor (foreground) and between figures. Frame possibly associated, minor cracks to frame.
