A fine large early 20th century gilt brass-mounted silk picture frame, of 'Palais Royale' type, the main aperture (9.75" x 7.5", 25cm x 19cm) of canted oblong form within guilloche border, the broad pink moire silk surround with four bead-edged circular corner apertures, each 2.1" (5.5cm) diameter flanked by pierced mounts, some urns issuing foliage, others figural, all within bead-and-acanthus decorated frame with laurel wreath and ribbon surmount, the rear with wooden easel support, 14.5" x 17.5" (37cm x 44.5cm) excluding surmount.
