Lot Description

A late 19th century 18ct gold carnelian seal ring. The oval-shape carnelian intaglio, carved to depict a lion rampant wielding a sword, inset to the tapered band. Hallmarks for London, 1887. Weight 4.9gms.

Overall condition good. Minor surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Inner band engraved 'E to M' and '1916', partially worn. Carnelian translucent brownish-orange, fair colour saturation. Carnelian in fair to good condition with some surface abrasion, nicks and scratches.
