A Victorian silver-gilt trowel of plain form with turned ebonised handle. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1890. Length measuring 13 3/4 inches (35 cm), weight 9 ozt (251 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. No engravings. Remnants of sticky labels. The handle has started to move away from the silver mount, no longer sitting flush. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
