Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver mug, of plain cylindrical form to the slightly splayed base, with the start of a foliate engraved rim and plain oval handle, hallmarked Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1915. Together with a continental squat dish, the wrythen bowl with inverted lip, raised on four scrolling shell feet. Length of bowl 7 inches (17.7 cm). Height of mug 3 inches (7.6 cm). Gross weight 12.67 ozt (394.1 grams). (2).

Good overall condition with scratches, slight dents and tarnish in keeping with age and use. Mug has shallow dents to the body. General black spot discolouration, may require professional cleaning.  Repeat engraving pattern has been started to the splayed base but not continued. Dish stamped 800, together with a three-leaf clover mark, initials and/or numbers within the clover, slightly obscured. The dish rocks very slightly on a flat surface, legs very slightly bent. Possible small repairs to the inside of the rim. Some slightly heavier scratches.
