Lot Description

A George III silver salver of circular form, the central vacant cartouche with diaper surround and raised edge to the gadrooned rim and above three bracket feet. Hallmarked Solomon Hougham, London 1814. Diameter measuring 12 inches (30.5 cm), weight 34 ozt (1065 grams).

The salver displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Areas of heavy tarnishing and debris visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible. The main surface of the salver does not sit parallel to the table, one of the legs and the edge look to have taken some compression and has a bowed appearance.
