Lot Description

An early twentieth century bowl, of deep oval form, the main body with gadroon and foliate shell surround, to the similarly designed twin handles and reeded base ring, raised on four half-shell scrolling feet. Hallmarked Sibray, Hall & Co (Charles Clement Pilling), Sheffield 1919. Length (including handles) 15 1/4 inches (39 cm). Weight 47.68 ozt (1483 grams).

Good overall condition with typical surface scratches and very small dents in keeping with general wear and age. Noticeable tarnish/discolouration. Maker's mark slightly rubbed but legible. Slight shallow dent to side of bowl. Slight pitting to joins of handles. Bowl rocks very slightly on level surface.
