Lot Description
A late Victorian pair of silver mounted glass perfume bottles, each hobnail cut glass body of globular form with pierced silver mount around the top embossed with putti, grotesques and birds amidst floral, scroll and foliate motifs, the hinged cover with conforming decoration (both deficient of stoppers). Silver hallmarked James Deakin & Sons, Chester 1898. Maximum height measures 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm).

Condition Report
Both bottles display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Deeper scratches and contact marks are visible to some areas of the glass, also some minor rim nicks and chips and some cloudiness. There are some small holes and breaks in the silver mounts, also some surface dints and bumps visible to the hinged lids. Both are deficient of stoppers. Some rubbing and distortion, mainly to maker's marks, however all marks are still legible.
