Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver mounted table cigarette box, of plain rectangular outline with rounded corners and slightly domed hinged lid opening to reveal a wood lined interior with single dividing panel, hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., London, date letter indistinct. Together with a further table cigarette box with engine turned decoration to the lid, hallmarked E & N Speak, Birmingham 1961. Dimensions measure respectively 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) by 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) and 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm) by 3 1/2 inches (9 cm).

Condition Report
Both boxes display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Both would benefit from a clean and polish. There are some minor dints and nicks visible, however overall they appear in fair condition. The hallmarks on the earlier box are very rubbed and some of the marks are indistinct. Hallmarks on the later box are mainly clear and legible.
