Lot Description

An Art Nouveau silver bud vase of tapered form, pierced with stylised floral panels to the flared lip and raised on the silver filled base, hallmarked R F Mosley & Co (Robert Fead Mosley), Sheffield 1909, height measuring 6 inches (15 cm). Together with a Victorian import silver bud vase, the shaped form depicting a scene of a wading heron amongst reeds with flowers and a butterfly, hallmarked William Moering, London import 1896, height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A number of dents to the Art Nouveau example, wooden loading to the base and also does not sit straight, the vase has been slightly knocked to one side, the maker's mark is rubbed, also with the registration mark 489654. The import example has further continental marks and a little pitting to the surface.
