Lot Description

A Victorian silver mounted hand mirror, decorated with the heads of cherubs surrounded by clouds, with scrolling, to the tapered and embossed handle. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1896. Height 9 3/8 inches (23.75 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. There is a small crack to the lower handle around a scroll, small pot marks are evident to the bottom of the mirror backing. One set of hallmarks are clear and legible, the other rubbed. Marginal discolouration surrounding the cherub heads.
