Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver and tortoiseshell composite dressing table group, to include a hand mirror, comb and four brush set, a pin tray, a small oval-shape jewellery box raised on four scroll legs, together with two variously designed glass jars. Mirror and brush set hallmarked Mappin & Webb, London 1927/28. Length of jewellery box 2 1/2 inches (5.7 cm).

Condition Report
Fair overall condition with scratches, minor dents and tarnish in keeping with age and use. Marks, discolouration and bloom to most of the tortoiseshell to varying degrees, some severe, some tortoiseshell slightly buckled. Silver mounts slightly loose to the two hand brushes. One oval-shape brush with noticeable wear and lopsidedness to bristles. Comb broken and glued to one end. Significant wear to hallmarks and maker's marks to mirror and brush set. Jewellery box tortoiseshell with small sliver chip to edge. Lid closes securely. Hallmarked William Colmyns, London 1910. Small noticeable dents to silver on pin tray, hallmarked London, 1899 maker's mark partially obscured, C... Glass jars with minor small fleabite nicks. Hallmarks generally worn.
