An early nineteenth century Irish Fiddle pattern butter knife. Marked sterling and the maker's mark for John & Nicholas Nicholson, Cork. Length measuring 6 3/4 inches (17 cm), weight 0.8 ozt (25.8 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The knife appears heavily polished with rounded edges, the heel definition has almost completely worn. The striking blade of the knife has been sharpened and is consequently thin. The maker's mark rubbed but legible. No personal engraving to the terminal.
