The basket displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Heavy tarnishing is visible throughout and it would benefit from a clean and polish.  Deeper scratches and nicks and some general surface dints and bumps are visible, especially to the interior centre.  Some loss of detail and definition to the engraved and chased decoration to the centre, impressions of the decoration are visible to the other side.  Also slight impression from the foot is visible to the interior.  Hinges to the swing handle are in working order.  There are some small holes visible in the shaped main border.  Hallmarks are quite rubbed and distorted and difficult to read.
