A Sampson Mordan silver sovereign holder, of lobed circular outline and opening to reveal a sprung compartment with engine turned decoration. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London 1886. Diameter measures 32 mm, gross weight 27.6 grams.

The holder displays some general surface scratches,  contact marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use, however the overall condition appears fairly good.  Some minor nicks/dints.  The clasp and hinges are in working order, however it is quite difficult to open.  The hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks located to interior.
