Lot Description

An Edwardian silver hip flask, the oblong form with presentational inscription, detachable cup and domed hinged lid with locking mechanism. Hallmarked Drew & Sons (Samuel Summers Drew & Ernest Drew), London 1906. Height measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), weight 5.4 ozt (169 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous dents around the body and domed lid. Areas of much heavier tarnishing. No cork to the inner lid. Hallmarks a little rubbed but clearly legible. Locking mechanism to the lid a little stiff. Abrasion marks from contact pulling the detachable cup off. Remnants of a sticky label.
