An early twentieth century German cigarette case, the oblong form with hammered finish, set with a line of square-shaped sapphires below a monogram engraving, opening to reveal a gilt interior. German hallmarks for Louis Kuppenheim, Pforzheim, Reichsmark and the standard mark of 800. Height measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 3.7 ozt (116 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
Some of the hammered decoration has rubbed with loss of definition. Minor abrasions and chips to sapphires. Hinge and clasp in good working order. Gilding to the interior displays marks. German assay marks partly distorted.
