Condition Report
The box appears to be in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks and wear in keeping with the age and use. There is some loss of surface detail and definition to some of the raised decoration, especially the putti scene. A few minor surface dints and bumps. The gilded interior appears a little faded to some areas. The hinged lid appears in working order. There are a couple of slight cracks leading down from the hinge and visible to the interior. Possible repair to hinge at some stage? The hallmarks to the underside are clear and legible. There are four further struck marks, quite indistinct but possibly Hanau?
