Lot Description
A George II silver tobacco box of oval form, the stepped lid with central engraved armorial, personal inscription surround and further initial engraving to the underside. Hallmarked James Wright, London 1735. Maximum length measuring 4 inches (10 cm), weight 5.4 ozt (170 grams).

Condition Report
The box displays light general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Engraving crisp to the lid. A little pitting to the inner lid. Slight cracks to the inner lip. Two minor shallow dints to the underside of the base. Hallmarks to the inner lid are clear and legible, they appear quite worn to the main outer body and the maker's mark positioned to the inner base is overstuck. Maximum length measuring 4 inches (10 cm), weight 5.4 ozt (170 grams).
