Lot Description
A George III silver vinaigrette, the oblong form with pricked and engraved decoration, canted corners, initialled cartouche opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior with simple pierced grille. Hallmarked Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham 1817. Length measuring 3 cm, weight 11.9 grams.

Condition Report
The vinaigrette displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some wear and loss of definition to the decoration. The two halves do not quite sit flush. The hinge is a little loose. The gilding bright to the interior is bright and possibly re-done. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
