Condition Report
Both vinaigrettes display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing is visible and both would benefit from a clean and polish. More wear around the edges of both and some minor dints and bumps are visible. Some slight loss of detail to the engraved and stippled decoration. Hinges to both are working, although a little loose on the larger example. General wear to gilded interiors on both. On the 1803 vinaigrette, the gilding is quite faded. On this example, there are some deep gouges to one of the rounded corners of the removable grille. Some rubbing and slight distortion to hallmarks but they are all still legible.
