Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case of oblong form, with foliated engraving and a vacant cartouche, hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd, Birmingham 1900. Together with a white metal and tortoiseshell mounted oval snuff box with inlaid monogrammed cartouche, A.F., and a gold plated sovereign holder of circular form, stamped 'Pioneer'. (3).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. The vesta is heavily dented, particularly to the front panel, the hinge works well, the hallmarks are clear. The lid of the white metal snuff is detatched at the hinge, there are deep scratches to the tortoiseshell and white metal and a large chip from the corner of the lid. There is also an obvious join mark which is cracking open to the main body. The sovereign case has only minor scratches, one small deeper one to the reverse, the hinge is in good working order.
