A late Victorian silver vesta case of plain oblong form with monogram engraving and gold tone hinge, lip and suspension ring. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1900. Height measuring 5 cm, weight 46.5 grams.

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dints. Hinge and clasp in good working order. The striking plate to the recess is missing. Gilding to the inner rim is worn. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
