A late 19th century 9ct gold opal locket. Of heart-shape outline, the circular opal cabochon, with raised foliate and partial filigree detail, suspended from a belcher-link chain. Length of locket 3.4cms. Length of chain 44.5cms. Weight 12.1gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good to fair. There are slight scratches to the locket in keeping with minor wear. Stamped 9ct to reverse. The inner perpex panelling and side rims to the locket are loose and would need attention. The locket closes securely. The gilding to the back of the locket has worn. The chain links are significant dented and damaged. The barrel clasp is secure, stamped 9ct. The opal is in good condition, displaying, pinks, blues and greens.
