An early 20th century 15ct gold amethyst and seed pearl brooch. The marquise-shape amethyst within a seed pearl border. Length 3cms. Weight 6.5gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition is good to fair. Scratches and dents on metal surface in keeping wear, specifically on the back. Amethyst is a medium saturated purple colour with uneven colour distribution due to typical natural inclusions. With rounded facet edges and slight abrasion and chipped surface. Seed pearls are grey-cream colour with blue, green and some rose overtones. Skins have pits, blemishes and cracks. Some better quality than others. Signs of replaced seed pearls. Seed pearls untested for natural origin. Brooch pin and hinge with safety chain and clasp attached. All in good, secure working order. Stamped '1587'.
