Lot Description

A Wedgwood (Etruria) Queens Ware commemorative mug.
Produced for 23rd July 1924 after a design attributed to Susannah Margaretta "Daisy" Makeig Jones,
The decoration commemorating the marriage of Lady Ursula Grosvenor, elder daughter of the second Duke of Westminster, to W.P.Filmer-Sankey, the cylindrical body decorated with groom's and bride's initials (the latter beneath coronet), each flanked by horses, with wedding date, 3.25", (8cm) diameter and height.
See a matching example in the Wedgwood Museum. These mugs were by repute produced as presents for the Estate workers.
