A Japanese Meiji period black-lacquered brass pot, the squat ovoid body decorated with raised panels of birds in wooded landscapes, on a densely gilded foliate ground and three splayed supports with conforming decoration, gilt five character mark beneath, 3.5" diameter x 3" high, (9cm x 7.5cm).
