Lot Description

A good Japanese Meiji period Kyoto School Satsuma vase, the balustroid body with flared rim, finely decorated with 'jewelled' bands over two panels, one depicting a bearded figure, a dragon and a vase, the other a sage with scroll before a lantern, a child hiding behind him, both with gilt-speckled sky reserved on a gilt scroll decorated ground, inset with further jewelled panels, over conforming foot, apparently unsigned, 12" (30.5cm) high.
