Lot Description

An unusual 19th century tortoiseshell double-hinged snuff box, the upper section centred by a 'rose gold' oblong cartouche with engraved armorial, and matching purchase, within ribbed surround, opening on a matching long hinge to reveal a concave compartment, the lower section with conforming hinge to the concave sides, enclosing the main compartment, 2.3" x 1.5" x 0.75" high, (6cm x 4cm x 2cm). (S/D).
