An early to mid 19th century inlaid mahogany candle box, the sliding front cover having an arched surmount over chevron and 'barber's pole' inlaid borders and octagonal motif, bone lozenge inlay, decorated dovetailed sides, the back with shaped suspender, 17.5" (44.5cm) high.

Old crack to back panel, widens near base and has been infilled. Dark cracks to each side panel (the right side with reattched strip). Good colour and patination.
