A mid Victorian hide-covered writing box or lap desk, the cover with carry handle, initials MRH and date 1876, enclosing black morocco pouches, one folding slope and a lock stamped J.T. NEEDS 100 NEW BOND ST. LATE J. BRAMAH 124 PICCADILLY, 16.25" x 10.75" x 6.75" high, (41cm x 27cm x 17cm), together with another lap desk, a walnut jewellery box and a rosewood tea caddy. (4).
