James Baker Pyne, RBA (1800-1870), 'Lake of Maggiore', a large and impressive oil on canvas, figures on the shoreline beside canopied boats, porticoed buildings and hilltop ruins beyond, signed lower right, entitled, named and dated 1854 on a plaque, 32.75" x 51", (83cm x 129.5cm) in swept gilt frame.
Provenance: Worcester private collection, reputedly purchased by the grandfather of the current owner.
