A late 19th century French black slate mantel clock, the 3.75" white Roman dial with Breguet hands, the recessed centre and partially visible Brocot escapement over retailers inscription, 'R.J.H. CHAPLIN LONDON BRIDGE' the movement stamped 'JAPY FRERES GRANDE MEDAILLES 1855', engraved 'J.R.H. CHAPLIN' and numbered 1950, outside countwheel striking on a bell, the breakfront case with verde antico marble pilasters, 9.5" (24cm) high, together with a gilt metal figural mantel clock. (2).
