Lot Description

An 18th century Swedish marble-topped walnut bombe commode chest of drawers.
The white marble top of serpentine form over three crossbanded drawers each with cast rococo escutcheon and foliate handles between bombe sides with lozenge parquetry, the front corners with cast sabots on splayed supports. 39.5" x 19" x 32" high, (100cm x 48cm x 82cm).

Marble top believed replaced. Splits and seperation to veneers on sides, with missing and lifting aresa. Some filled areas of worm. Drawer fronts with similar faults and minor repairs to veneers. Wooden divisions between drawers have splits and lifting veneers where they meet the sides of the chest. Heavy wear around legs and feet.
