Lot Description

An Edwardian silver caster of plain baluster outline with moulded girdle detail, the removable lid with stylised foliate piercing and bayonet style fitting, hallmarked Carrington & Co., London 1907, height measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm).  Together with a pair of late Victorian silver shell bowl spoons, hallmarked Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1898, a sifter spoon and a foliate decorated pepperette. Weight of caster and shell spoons 5.65 ozt (175.8 grams). (5).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Heavier scratches, nicks and marks visible to some areas, and some minor surface dints/bumps.  The foot of the caster has been knocked and is now a little squashed so that it wobbles slightly when in standing position.  The hallmarks on the caster appear quite rubbed but are still legible.  The hallmarks on the spoons are legible.  There are a couple of struck marks to the pepperette.  There are also some marks to the reverse of the sifter spoon, which is likely to be plate.
