Lot 130

Lot Description

An early twentieth century pair of silver mounted candlesticks, the oval stepped bases, leading to the conforming tapered stems and sockets with detachable nozzles, loaded. Hallmarked Henry Clifford Davis, Birmingham 1919. Height measuring 12 1/2 inches (32 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous dints, small dents and bumps. The base to one is loose with the loading dislodged and would require attention. One detachable nozzle displays a few solder repairs, and also does not appear to be hallmarked and of a much tighter fit. Second nozzle is much looser in position, more heavily dented and has part hallmarks (different to the main hallmarks on the bases) of a lion passant and the date letter V only.
