Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver christening mug of plain tapered form, personal name engraving and 'C' shaped handle, hallmarked William Aitken, Birmingham 1918. Together with a 1930's silver sugar bowl of plain circular form, hallmarked Stokes & Ireland Ltd (William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland), Chester 1935. Gross combined weight 7.1 ozt (223 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The bowl displays some heavier pitt scratch marks. The mug is quite heavily tarnished and displays discolouration. Minor dints and bumps and a few dents to the mug. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
