Lot Description

An Edwardian silver ink stand, of elongated oval outline with moulded rim and raised above four scrolled and splayed feet, with central compartment containing an oval glass ink bottle with plain silver collar and circular hinged lid.  Inkstand hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd., London 1901, silver bottle mounts hallmarked Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1900 and 1901.  Weight of stand 6.59 ozt (205 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Heavy tarnishing is visible to areas of the stand and it would benefit from a clean and polish.  Hinged lid to bottle in god working order.  Some light rubbing but hallmarks and part hallmarks are all still clear and legible.  Some minor edge nicks to the glass and heavier scratches to the underside.
