Lot Description

An Italian candle holder, in the form of a stylised flower bud with central spike and raised above a plain cylindrical stem to a flat circular base. Marked to the underside with the Italian post 1968 maker's mark of a rectangle with pointed sides containing a five pointed star, the silversmith's number '78' and possibly 'PD' for Padova, also impressed '925' in an oval cartouche and marked 'Nazareno Gabrielli'.  Height measures 6 3/4 inches (17 cm), weight 12.77 ozt (397.2 grams).

The item displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.  Some heavier scratches, nicks and marks are visible, however the overall condition appears fairly good.  The maker's marks and other marks are clear and legible.
