Lot Description

A cased George III silver mounted knife and fork with carved mother of pearl handles. Hallmarked T Simpson & Son, Birmingham 1812. Length of knife measuring 7 1/2 inches (19.5 cm), length of fork 6 inches (15 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

A chip to the mother of pearl along the handle of the knife and terminal of the fork. Knife blade and fork tines appear worn and dented. Part hallmarks to fork appear worn and illegible, full hallmarks are clear and legible to the knife. Case appears scuffed and worn.
