Lot Description

A George III silver Old English pattern serving spoon, with engraved monogram to terminal, hallmarked George Burrows (I), London 1797. Together with an early George III pair of table spoons with crested terminals, hallmarked 'W.W', London, date letter distorted, tentatively attributed to William Withers (1762...1763), a further George III table spoon, hallmarked Peter & Ann Bateman, London 1793, a pair of Georgian sugar nips, a Victorian preserve spoon, a child's ivory handled Victorian knife and fork set, four various condiment spoons and an Edwardian pair of sugar tongs. Weighable silver 14.42 ozt (448.4 grams).

All the pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use, and to varying degrees.  General surface dints and bumps.  Considerable wear to the bowls of the table spoons and serving spoon.  The early sugar nips are in fairly poor condition with some damage to the stems and handles.  The blade and tines of the Victorian knife and fork are in poor condition and the ferrule on the knife is loose.  Hallmarks to all are in varied state.
