Lot 390

Lot Description

A modern pair of silver grape scissors, each stem modelled with a fox seated amongst fruiting vines and branches, hallmarked D J Silver Repairs, London 1966.  Together with a further, plainer pair, hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1932.  Respective lengths measure 6 1/8 inches (15.5 cm) and 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cm), weight 5.29 ozt (164.6 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both grape scissors display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.  There is some slight loss of surface detail on the fox decorated scissors.  The plainer pair displays some heavier tarnishing and deeper scratches and small gouges in the metal.  They are also slightly out of alignment and do not close properly.  The hallmarks to both are clear and legible.
