Lot Description

Six George III silver Fiddle pattern table forks in with bright cut engraved border decoration.  Hallmarked William Eley & William Fearn, London 1805, one fork hallmarked 1807.  Weight 14.48 ozt (450.5 grams).

The forks are in overall fair condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some heavier scratches and nicks.  The engraved decoration is still crisp and bright.  Elastic band marks to a couple of stems.  A little bit more wear to the tips of the fork tines but they have generally faired quite well.  The later fork is slightly longer.  The maker's mark are partly rubbed but still legible.  The hallmarks are clear and legible, some slight rubbing.
